Angles in GeomteryIn geometry, angles are used to find the sum of the interior angles in a polygon, to find if lines are perpendicular or parallel, etc. There are many reasons and necessitates to use angles in plane geometry. Mathematicians calculate the total measure of an angle in order to find out if lines are perpendicular or parallel.
|
Parallel LinesParallel lines are lines that NEVER intersect. They go straight across with no intersection between them. Think of railroad tracks and imagine they are lines and look how they never cross each other.
|
Perpendicular LinesPerpendicular lines are intersecting lines that intersect at and only at 90 degrees. They produce right angles which measure 90 degrees. An example is floor tiles. The lines intersect each other creating right angles.

Angle Use in Plastic Surgery
![Picture](/uploads/5/9/2/5/59258659/748665960.jpg?250)
In plastic surgery, surgeons often use different types of angles in order to find out which places on the patient's face they must lift, fill or plump. They must observe the face at a new angle and determine and calculate which angles on the face would transform the patient in the most striking way.
Neither the plastic surgeons nor the patients want the result to show a remarkable difference compared to the natural face. When adding a magic touch to a deformed feature on a cheek or a forehead, the surgeons will have to plan based on how their normal looks or would look like in order to have the best result. |
As seen in the picture, angles can be used to pinpoint a precise location on a face. Angles are useful in accurate measurements and handy in equality. |
WHAT IS SPHERICAL GEOMETRY?
Spherical geometry is the geometry of a two- dimensional surface of a sphere. |
