Real Life Examples of Triangle Use in Plastic Surgery
As you can see in the images below, our face is composed of multiple shapes and polygons including triangles. In order to sharpen the face or lift up the face to create this beautiful appearance, plastic surgeons must calculate and observe the shape of the patient's face is. A patient's face shape may vary thus allowing surgeons to have a vast amount of knowledge of shapes especially in triangles, whether they are obtuse, acute, equilateral or quadrangular. The surgeons must calculate the triangle's area, perimeter and lengths of the sides to pinpoint the dimensions of the face that would create a more stunning appearance onto the patient. Examples of problems in plastic surgery that would coincide with triangles uses are when plastic surgeons are needed to solve and calculate the area of the triangles among the face. To solve the dilemma would be to use the ratio of the face along with the triangles in the face shape, surgeons are able to find the correct size to shrink or alter the face. Another solution would be to find the angles and sides to also include triangle congruence to match the desired look for the patient.

Plastic surgeons can use their information about triangles to measure the shape of their patient's face an find the perimeter, area and side lengths of the triangle within the face. If the patient's face is triangular, plastic surgeons can round up to an estimation of what the area, perimeter and lengths of that person's face would be.

An example would be facial fat grafting. A plethora amount of women in their 30's like their face shape due to the fact because they had lost a lot of baby fat and as a result, have this triangular heart shaped face. As a woman continues to age they lose of fat in the eyes, cheeks and jawline. They additionally gain some weight in the areas around the lower face, neck and jowls and they start to invert the base of the triangle into the bottom of the face.
